Live performance with Jehisson Santacruz on the flute and Mikko Olaya on the drums

A unique installation of this scale, comprising 94 Plexiglas rods mounted on four rails, creating the illusion of a floating effect within the space. The second installation, comprising 90 Plexiglas rods, is mounted in harmony with the stairwell of the cultural centre and symbolises the flow of water.

Live performance together with Susanne Baumann, Isabelle Habegger and musician Dom Hakios in aid of Zurich Children’s Hospital; at the auction, the painting by Ms Madeleine Exenberger; thanks to the numerous guests, a great deal of money was also raised for Kispi. A huge thank you to everyone, to Ms Patricia Vögele for organising the event, and to Mr Arun Sah from Kispi.

Habegger’s installations achieve a three-dimensional effect through staggered glass panels of varying sizes. Using ornamental or serial painting techniques – with dots, concentric circles, lines and grids – the artist creates an additional sense of depth. A sense of space is also created by front-facing lighting, causing the painted sections to cast a play of shadows onto the planes behind them. The monochrome panels in the rearmost plane bring out the interplay of the predominantly warm colours even more effectively.

Together with Dom Hakios, we staged our first performance outside my studio, accompanied by his own music (Paradise For Free and You To See) – a premiere that generated a great deal of attention during the Culture Weekend. All the pictures were signed by both of us and sold. A portion of the proceeds went to support a children’s home.
